We interviewed Kayla \u2014 mom, kickboxer, and business owner \u2014 to find out about her journey and how life\u2019s been since graduating from her Beyond Finance program.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

    Can you tell us a bit about yourself?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    We live in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. It\u2019s super pretty \u2014 big old mountains. My husband and I own a construction business. We\u2019re going on almost 10 years! I deal with the office stuff and he deals with the field and the customer. It\u2019s a pretty good tradeoff.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    We have three kids: a 12-year-old, an 8-year-old, and a 5-year-old, so I\u2019m busy every day.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    We both kickbox and box, and the kids do jiu-jitsu, so we all do that as a family together! And we love to go to the mountains.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    How did you find yourself in debt?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    I was doing really, really well for a long time. And then we decided we were going to move, and the moving expenses started to pile up. You\u2019re like, \u201cOh, I\u2019ll put it on the credit card and I\u2019ll pay it off.\u201d But then something else comes up and something else.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

    It definitely was life-changing to call and be understood and feel like there was a solution.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

    I never was behind on payments, but it was getting more difficult to sustain it, especially during our lower income months. With construction, sometimes it\u2019s feast and famine.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Before I knew it, I was almost $20,000 in debt, and I\u2019m like, \u201cHoly cow, when did this happen?\u201d It was just a small snowballing over the years.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    With the credit card and paying it, you can\u2019t ever get ahead of the APR. You\u2019re never going to get past 25, 28% APR. It\u2019s literally like a hamster wheel \u2014 you\u2019re like, \u201cOh right, I put $500 on this one payment and it didn\u2019t even make a dent.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    We have to work hard for that $500 \u2014 that\u2019s many, many hours away from our family.

    How was your experience with us?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    I found Beyond Finance through some Google searches. I did extensive research because I didn\u2019t want to file for bankruptcy.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The helpfulness and understanding of your team really did help me make the right decision in pursuing Beyond Finance because I felt like I wasn\u2019t being judged, and that there was a solution to my problem.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    It definitely was life-changing to call and be understood and feel like there was a solution.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    I was probably spending between $500 and $600 \u2014 trying to keep up with my credit card bills. I think with Beyond we got it down to around $300. It gave me a little more room to use on the kids and not be so stressed out. As time went on, you have that little bit more in your pocket.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

    Kayla shared that one of the key benefits of the Beyond Finance program was affording her more time with her family.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

    It felt really good getting on the app and looking at my progress \u2014 it really did give me a sense of relief knowing that I was getting somewhere.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What did graduation feel like?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    It was amazing. I think I was able to finish a little bit early by putting a good chunk of change in the program from some stuff that we had sold.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    It felt really good because we had been paying for so long that you feel like you\u2019re never going to get to the end, and then all of a sudden you\u2019re there.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    It was a surreal moment, but it felt really, really good too.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    A new car will probably be our next finance venture! And we\u2019re able to spend a little more time family-wise and enjoy a little more.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

    And we\u2019re finally able to get a little ahead, and I finally have a decent amount of money in my business account!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    We\u2019re advancing more in our business and making better moves because we\u2019re utilizing our money differently and thinking about money differently. And I do see more success in my future with this mindset!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Beyond Finance gave me a chance to be reborn financially so that I can make my money work for me and not so hard for it.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    It was kind of like a saving grace so that I could understand what mistakes I was making and how not to make them anymore.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
