The discussion revolved around the historical increase in elderly Americans, many of whom are on fixed incomes. She states in the interview, &#8220;This will help those who need it the most.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Say You? <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"720\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 1280 \/ 720;\" width=\"1280\" controls src=\"https:\/\/www.beyondfinance.com\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/Erika-Rasure_KMOV-TV-10-13-22.mp4\"><\/video><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Source: KMOV-TV 4\/St. Louis CBS<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The concerns with our eldest generation not being able to keep up with the agonizing demands of inflation caused the Biden Administration to fight for a stimulus in the form of <a href=\"http:\/\/The inflation adjustment for Social Security benefits was high at 5.9% in 2022. The cost-of-living adjustment began with benefits payable to more than 64 million Social Security beneficiaries in January. But you'd have to go back to 1979, 1980 and 1981 for any inflation adjustment that would be 9% or higher.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">additional Social Security benefits<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This equates to <strong>an 8-9% increase in payouts<\/strong>, which will benefit <strong>more than 64 million Social Security beneficiaries<\/strong>. Our Dr. Erika Rasure sat down with her hometown CBS affiliate to discuss why this assistance is crucial. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This increase is meant to balance out and help normalize the benefits being received in relationship to the cost of inflation.
