Since 2020, Millennials (ages 27-42) have been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/statistics\/797321\/us-population-by-generation\/#:~:text=Millennials%20were%20the%20largest%20generation,the%20population%20for%20many%20years.\">America&#8217;s population at 72.2 million<\/a>, surpassing Baby Boomers (ages 59-77). Since that year, many things have risen in price. In that time, Americans have encountered inflation, the cost of living, and global conflict&#8211;all have contributed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The most surprising item to go up in cost is <strong>the price of happiness<\/strong>. A recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.empower.com\/the-currency\/money\/research-financial-happiness#methodology?mod=article_inline\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Empower survey<\/a> researched this, covered by MarketWatch. The national study showed they believed they needed <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marketwatch.com\/story\/the-price-tag-for-happiness-millennials-say-its-525-000-03aa1885\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">$525,000 to achieve financial wellness<\/a><\/strong>, <em>annually.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the survey, Millennials require more of their salaries. Those were triple the demands of Generation X (43-58), which were the next highest in the poll. Considering where Millennials are situated in their lives. They buy a home, work on starting a family, and pay all those &#8220;big person&#8221; bills. Happiness would mean paying for it all without overwhelming the stress. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the experts MarketWatch asked about the growing demands of Millennials was <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondfinance.com\/newsroom\/beyond-finance-celebrates-financial-practice-week-an-addition-to-chases-calendar-of-events\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Beyond Finance&#8217;s Dr. Erika Rasure, CFT<\/a>.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Millennials are the generation of those who encountered the harsh reality of the American Dream myth.
