{"id":4259,"date":"2024-01-03T14:34:20","date_gmt":"2024-01-03T14:34:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.beyondfinance.com\/newsroom\/?p=4259"},"modified":"2024-12-02T22:52:07","modified_gmt":"2024-12-02T22:52:07","slug":"studyfinds-org-names-beyond-finance-study-among-its-best-in-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beyondfinance.com\/newsroom\/studyfinds-org-names-beyond-finance-study-among-its-best-in-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"StudyFinds.org Names Beyond Finance Study Among Its Best in 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Throughout the year, we reach out to the media for announcements and insight, but one Beyond Finance study earned recognition on<strong> a &#8220;Best Of 2023&#8221; list. <\/strong>In June 2023, the Beyond Finance study touched upon &#8220;<strong>What Would You Do to Be Debt-Free?<\/strong>&#8221; The numbers gathered from this research was interesting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"1080\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 1920 \/ 1080;\" width=\"1920\" controls src=\"https:\/\/www.beyondfinance.com\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/BeyondFinance_MAIN-1.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With only&nbsp;<strong>38% of respondents<\/strong>&nbsp;believing they are \u201cvery confident\u201d in their ability to remain out of debt, the other<strong>&nbsp;62%<\/strong>&nbsp;shared diverse reasons why getting back in debt would happen inevitably.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>54%<\/strong>&nbsp;cited the cost of living<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>46%<\/strong>&nbsp;unexpected expenses<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>29%<\/strong>&nbsp;stressed rising interest rates<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>16%<\/strong>&nbsp;would still worry about \u201ckeeping up with the Joneses\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>That Beyond Finance study helped many people nationwide. It caused a few laughs in the process. And <strong>StudyFinds.org just named it as one of its &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/studyfinds.org\/best-money-studies-of-2023\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Best Money Studies of 2023<\/a>.&#8221; <\/strong>We couldn&#8217;t be prouder of the work that went into this research and the end result. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the troubles of personal debt, Americans would be willing to pay an interesting price to get out of debt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"572\" src=\"https:\/\/www.beyondfinance.com\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/americans-would-do-what-to-stay-out-of-debt-1024x572.jpg\" alt=\"Beyond Finance study, What would Americans do to get out of debt?\" class=\"wp-image-4022\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.beyondfinance.com\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/americans-would-do-what-to-stay-out-of-debt-1024x572.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.beyondfinance.com\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/americans-would-do-what-to-stay-out-of-debt-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.beyondfinance.com\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/americans-would-do-what-to-stay-out-of-debt-768x429.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.beyondfinance.com\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/americans-would-do-what-to-stay-out-of-debt.jpg 1075w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>32%&nbsp;<\/strong>of polled respondents would give up social media for a year<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>31%<\/strong>&nbsp;would spend a night on a remote, deserted island<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>29%<\/strong>&nbsp;would endure a month without Internet access<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>18%<\/strong>&nbsp;would plan on going storm chasing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>12%<\/strong>&nbsp;would swim with sharks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>11%&nbsp;<\/strong>would go to Pamplona and run with the bulls if it meant no more debt, bills, or calls<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dr. Erika Rasure<\/strong>, Chair of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.financialtherapyclinicalinstitute.com\/\">Financial Therapy Clinical Institute<\/a>&nbsp;Research Board and one of Beyond Finance\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondfinance.com\/newsroom\/dr-erika-rasure-on-nbc-news-now\/\">client financial therapists<\/a>, said that the stress of debt could cause people to put their lives on hold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cDebt can sometimes deter people\u2019s short- and long-term goals,\u201d said Dr. Rasure. \u201cLearning to manage it effectively can be life-changing, but almost half of those surveyed admit feeling anxious about their debt, which may make it challenging to focus on finding solutions.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information about the research, Dr. Rasure&#8217;s work with Beyond Finance, or work to move people beyond debt, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondfinance.com\/newsroom\/beyond-finance-survey-shows-americans-feelings-about-becoming-and-living-debt-free\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">visit our newsroom<\/a> today. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In June 2023, a Beyond Finance study about &#8220;What Would you Do to be Debt-Free&#8221; was released.
