Drawing on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beyondfinance.com\/newsroom\/fathers-day-survey-many-americans-say-their-fathers-helped-shape-their-work-ethic\/\">Beyond Finance\u2019s Father\u2019s Day survey<\/a> of 2,000 U.S. adults, the article explored the role dads play in teaching values like hard work, financial independence, and planning for the future \u2014 while also revealing where many Americans wish those early money lessons had gone further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In its coverage, <em>ConsumerAffairs<\/em> highlighted one of the survey\u2019s clearest takeaways: nearly half of Americans (46%) said their father was the primary person who taught them the importance of working hard to earn money. More broadly, over 70% of adults said they still follow at least some of the financial lessons their parents taught them growing up, including 42% who said they still follow most of that advice. At the same time, mothers were more often associated with everyday money management skills such as budgeting, saving regularly, living within one\u2019s means, and distinguishing between wants and needs. That contrast reflects how many families divide financial lessons in ways they may not even realize \u2014 one parent shaping long-term aspirations, the other reinforcing day-to-day
