Born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jacob is a family man through and through. How did you get into debt? 

I got into a bad cycle of getting credit card offers in the mail and getting a quick thrill of new credit. It happened slowly over time and eventually I had over 10 credit cards I couldn’t manage and it became too overwhelming.

It was scary looking at 10 different credit card payments and even more scary whenever I couldn’t pay them. It really put a lot of stress on me and my family. I’m really glad I found Beyond to make me feel there’s really a light at the end of the tunnel.

After a year of avoiding calls and emails from creditors, Jacob realized something had to change. He didn’t want to live with the constant stress any longer and more importantly, he wanted to set a positive example for his son.

How did you know it was time to get help? 

After a year of getting hounded by collection calls and emails I just decided it was time to face my fears and attack this debt. I want to be able to set an example for my son and try to teach him about debt and how not to make the mistakes I made. And I also want a fresh start and to build my credit so one day I can graduate this program with flying colors.

Now that he’s on the path toward financial freedom, Jacob can finally dream again — about the life he wants to create for his family and the peace that comes with a clean slate. What are you looking forward to most when you’re debt-free?

I want to buy a house! Take my family on a nice vacation! Maybe just celebrate at home with no stress! I hope this is the only time I ever have to use Beyond (laughs) but it’s been really easy and convenient using this product. Thank You.
