Graduate Exclusive! Dina E. Buys Land, Finances a Travel Trailer, and Plans Her Retirement
We interviewed Dina to find out about her journey and how life’s been since graduating from her Beyond Finance program in August of 2022.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
I’m a mother, grandmother, and wife here in L.A. County, California. I work full-time and babysit my grandbaby on Wednesdays.
How did you find yourself in debt?
I was helping my children out. They were moving out of state and I was like, “OK, I’ll just use my credit card,” and I got myself into a place where I couldn’t get out. Every paycheck I had — everything I had — was going to debt and I just could never seem to get out of it.
You really assured me that you would take care of everything and you did.
How was your experience with us?
I just remember signing up with Beyond Finance and not having to worry about anything. I had work, I had kids, so it was really nice — you really assured me that you would take care of everything and you did.
It was working for me, so my husband decided to do the same, and consolidate and pay off his debt a year after I did.
You graduated three years ago. What’s happened since?
When I graduated I was getting $500-something back each month and I’m like, “Yay! This is a car payment!”
I used the extra money to pay for part of my daughter’s wedding. Another daughter’s in college, so we’re also helping her out with that.
We bought some land in Tennessee with cash a few years ago, and we financed a travel trailer to live in while we build our own home there for retirement.
We’re both turning 60 this year and we’re on track to retire in 5 years!
It’s a great sense of relief, knowing that I would’ve otherwise been in debt for the rest of my life and I would’ve either had to file bankruptcy or — I don’t know.
I’m thankful I did the program because look where I’m at now!
