Graduate Exclusive! Domenica O. Travels, Buys Her Daughter a New Car, and Considers Buying a New Home

We interviewed Domenica to hear about her remarkable financial journey — one that began with generosity, ran through years of high-stress debt, and ended in international travel, and a new sense of financial freedom.

Interview transcribed from Spanish.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

I was born in Los Angeles, California, but when I was a little girl, my mom took me to Mexico. I grew up and went to school there until I came back to the U.S. at 18. Since then, I’ve lived in Phoenix, Arizona. I’ve worked a lot, raised my daughter, and tried to learn English, but it hasn’t been easy between work and being a mom.

I work at a window company as a production lead. For fun, I love walking, going to the gym now and then — but what I enjoy the most is dancing!

My daughter is 21 now and studying Health Sciences. I’m so proud of her.

How did you find yourself in debt?

I got into debt by trying to help people — family and friends. I used credit cards to buy things for others, help with their homes and kids. But when I asked to be paid back, everyone told me “no.”

Everything changed. I felt free. I had my confidence back. I could finally buy myself something after years of not spending anything on myself …

So all that debt fell on me. I was paying almost $2,000 a month just in minimum payments. I was covering my daughter’s school, my house, and trying to pay towards the debt — but nothing was going down, I was just paying interest. I did that for years. I was always stressed, always sick from nerves. I had to take medication just to manage it all.

Eventually I said, “I can’t do this anymore.” That’s when I saw an ad for Beyond Finance.

How was your experience with Beyond Finance?

Domenica and her family visit Universal Studios.

I checked Google reviews, watched YouTube videos, and decided to take a risk. On my first call, they explained what to expect — everything. They gave me confidence. I felt I could do it.

The transparency and honesty won me over. They really took the time to explain how it all worked.

At first, I was scared. But once I saw how much I’d be paying — about $520 less per month* — I did the math and realized I could afford it.

The first few months were stressful, but as I followed the program, I felt more and more relaxed.

When I got real results on my first account, I said, “Wow, it’s real!” That’s when I knew this was really working. I trusted it more and more.

How did your life change after graduating?

Everything changed. I felt free. I had my confidence back. I could finally buy myself something after years of not spending anything on myself — no clothes, no perfume, nothing.

Now we go out more, we travel. I was able to take my daughter to Cancun to celebrate her 21st birthday. We also visited Los Cabos — something we’d never done before.

After graduation, we could live a normal life. I didn’t have to think about payments every single day. My day-to-day life is so much better.

I visit my family in Mexico more often — they live about 10 hours from Phoenix. Before, I couldn’t justify the expense. Now, I can.

I also helped my daughter finance a new car. That was a big moment for us.

And now, thanks to my recovered credit, I qualify for my own new car — and even for a new home. I already own my own house, but now Wells Fargo is sending me letters asking if I want to apply for another mortgage.

We eat better, dress better, and just enjoy life. We go out and see new places — something we couldn’t do before. I don’t worry anymore about what will happen if there’s an emergency or if I can’t work. I have money saved now.

Beyond Finance gave me hope. Now I have savings, peace of mind, and a better future for my daughter and me.

Real client compensated for a real story. Clients typically save around $480 per month on their debt payments.*
