What’s the Financial Wellness RESET™ Framework?

Five dimensions of financial wellness — and where you stand on each

The proprietary Financial Wellness RESET™ Framework was developed by Dr. Erika Rasure, PhD, CFT™ (Certified Financial Therapist) through her clinical work studying how individuals actually change financial behavior. It identifies five distinct dimensions of financial wellness — each measurable, each addressable — and provides a structured basis for understanding where behavioral, emotional, and identity-level patterns are either supporting or undermining financial progress. Unlike tools focused solely on financial mechanics, the Financial Wellness RESET™ Framework addresses the psychological and behavioral substrate that determines whether financial strategies produce lasting change.

The framework draws on peer-reviewed research in financial therapy and behavioral finance — including published findings on the cognitive effects of financial stress, the role of emotional patterns in financial decision-making, and the conditions that support lasting behavioral change.

It is also the clinical foundation of Beyond Finance’s financial wellness programming. In a survey of more than 10,000 Beyond Finance program graduates, clients improved their self-reported financial habit scores from an average of 5.7 out of 10 before enrollment to 8.1 at graduation — a 42% improvement in self-reported financial habit quality.

The Financial Wellness RESET™ Framework was developed by Dr. Erika Rasure, PhD, CFT™ through her doctoral research, her clinical work as a Certified Financial Therapist, peer-reviewed research in financial therapy and behavioral change, and the insights she gathered while leading weekly financial wellness sessions with Beyond Finance clients. This assessment reveals where your greatest opportunities are across each of its five pillars.

The Five Pillars
Pillar 01
R

Recenter

Create the conditions for change

Recenter creates the internal calm that makes every other financial change possible — teaching you to recognize survival mode and return to a state where clear, intentional decisions become possible again.

Pillar 02
E

Examine

Understand why you do what you do

Examine gives you a clear view of the patterns shaping your financial behavior — where they came from, what they’re trying to do, and which ones to keep.

Pillar 03
S

Simplify

Make the right thing the easy thing

Simplify brings focus and structure to your financial life so the right decisions become the easy ones — removing complexity and focusing energy on one priority at a time.

Pillar 04
E

Empower

Build proof that you can trust yourself

Empower builds the one thing that actually changes financial behavior long-term: self-trust backed by real evidence — accumulated through small, consistent financial actions.

Pillar 05
T

Transform

Grow into your financial self

Transform consolidates the work of all four preceding pillars into a conscious, articulated financial identity you can name, live from, and build on deliberately.
