Edward Rider, a Beyond Finance employee and client graduate, joined other veterans and military recruits to march in the New York City Veterans Day Parade today with Wounded Warrior Project. Wounded Warrior Project is one of the charity partners that Beyond Finance is supporting with its new Rising Beyond philanthropic initiative.

Rider, who served in the U.S. Army, is one of more than 25 veterans working at Beyond Finance.

“It’s an honor to be marching in the Veterans Day Parade with Wounded Warrior Project, an organization dedicated to helping veterans heal and thrive beyond their injuries,” said Rider.

“As both an Army veteran and a Beyond Finance client graduate, I see a powerful parallel between fighting for our collective freedom and fighting for our individual financial freedom. While to some people it might seem like the two are miles apart, for those of us who have struggled with substantial debt and just want the opportunity to build a real future, we know different. I’m proud to be representing Beyond Finance on this important and deeply meaningful day.”

Rider’s wife and fellow Beyond Finance employee Melina Alves Rider, along with their 3-year-old daughter, Alina, joined him in New York to celebrate his participation in the parade.

Every year, more than 30,000 participants march down 5th Avenue in New York City, in America’s largest Veterans Day parade — a tradition that brings together veterans, military families, and supporters from across the country. The 2025 New York City Veterans Day Parade marks the 250th Anniversary of America’s military by celebrating the birth of its three senior service branches: the Army, Marine Corps and Navy.

Rooted in the company’s mission to help people rise above the burden of debt and regain financial wellness, Rising Beyond extends Beyond Finance’s commitment to economic empowerment through partnerships with four nationally respected nonprofit organizations. Other military-specific partners include:

  • Blue Star Families: Supporting military families through groundbreaking research, innovative programs, and community building as the nation’s largest military and veteran family support organization.
  • Hiring Our Heroes: Creating pathways for veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses to gain meaningful employment.
