Keane, who spent much of her career in retail and, later, working in Florida’s library and court systems, said her debt began as she stepped in to help her daughter, a single mother of two teenage boys. “I took out a couple of credit cards and it got a little out of control trying to make payments,” she said. “Each of the boys had their own car, and then one broke down. Family is very important to me, so I figured I could do without a few things.”
By the time Keane enrolled with Beyond Finance, she had more than $43,000 in unsecured debt.
