Beyond Finance is proud to continue its support of 261 Fearless, the global nonprofit organization that empowers women through running, by helping its leaders strengthen an often-overlooked aspect of fundraising success: their personal relationship with money.
As part of the organization’s leadership development efforts, Dr. Erika Rasure, PhD, CFT™, Chief Financial Wellness Advisor at Beyond Finance, recently led a special webinar titled How Your Money Story Shapes Your Fundraising Impact. The session explored how early life experiences, cultural influences, and personal beliefs about money can affect confidence when discussing donations, making fundraising requests, and advocating for a mission.
Dr. Rasure encouraged participants to examine the emotional side of money and identify the values, assumptions, and financial messages that continue to shape their behavior today. She helped leaders recognize how feelings such as scarcity, avoidance, or fear of rejection can unintentionally influence fundraising conversations and offered practical tools to reframe fundraising as an invitation to create impact rather than simply a request for financial support.
The webinar reflects Beyond Finance’s broader commitment to advancing financial wellness among Americans. Through its ongoing partnership with 261 Fearless — including sponsorship of the inaugural Kathrine V. Switzer Awards — Beyond Finance is helping women leaders build confidence, strengthen their impact, and create positive change in the lives of others.
