Our Chief Financial Wellness Advisor Dr. Erika Rasure joined the Get Down To Business podcast with host Scott “Shalom” Klein to discuss financial wellness and how credit card debt can erode mental health.

Dr. Rasure spearheads Beyond Finance’s weekly financial wellness sessions with clients, empowering them with guidance on different money management issues as they progress on their journey beyond debt. In the interview, she shares the important step of helping clients learn to trust themselves with money again.

“When I see clients, whether it’s because they’re in debt or they’re having communication issues with their partner, a lot of times, it shows up as ‘I can’t trust myself with money. I don’t know how to talk about money. I wasn’t raised to talk about money.’ And so there’s a lot of distrust,” shares Dr. Rasure.

“Once you’re able to help a client gain a little bit more trust in themselves, or a little bit more confidence in being able to communicate and do what they need to do to heal — whatever money issue that troubles them — that’s when you start to see some real forward growth and progress.”
