CHICAGO, (Feb. 12, 2026) — Beyond Finance, the nation’s largest debt consolidation company, is partnering with Blue Star Families to support military couples with an innovative approach that strengthens communication, trust, and long-term financial wellness, beginning with intentional conversations about money.
The collaboration is part of Beyond Finance’s Rising Beyond philanthropic initiative launched in 2025, which focuses on helping individuals and families build resilience and stability through financial empowerment. Together, Beyond Finance and Blue Star Families are hosting a “Financial Date Night” webinar for active-duty service members and their partners, recognizing the unique financial and emotional challenges that military families face. The webinar will be led by Beyond Finance Chief Financial Wellness Advisor Dr. Erika Rasure.
“Military life often includes changing income structures, distant deployments, and frequent relocations, which can cause career interruptions for military spouses,” said Sierra Martínez, senior manager of digital marketing and innovation at Blue Star Families. “All these changes can make it difficult for military couples to stay aligned on budgets, goals, and financial responsibilities. Over time, those pressures can strain not only finances, but relationships. The Financial Date Night webinar reframes money conversations from moments of stress to opportunities for connection and teamwork.”
“Military life brings constant change – shifts in income, distant deployments, frequent relocations – and those realities can put real strain on both finances and relationships,” said Sierra Martinez, Senior Manager of Digital Marketing and Innovation at Blue Star Families. “We know from the families we serve that financial stress can quietly build over time. The Financial Date Night webinar helps couples approach money as a shared challenge, creating space for connection and communication.”
Rather than focusing on budgeting tips and spreadsheets, the approach centers on financial intimacy — understanding each partner’s money story, the values and emotional drivers behind their financial decisions, and creating a shared ritual for open, judgment-free conversations. Couples are encouraged to check in emotionally, discuss goals together, and celebrate progress.
“Money is deeply emotional, especially in military households where uncertainty and sacrifice are part of daily life,” says Dr. Rasure. “The key points covered in this webinar can help couples feel more connected and confident as they navigate those realities together.”
