The New York Post recently featured Beyond Finance’s survey, sharing “60% of men keep financial secrets from their partners,” and asking, “Why can’t they come clean?”
In recognition of Men’s Mental Health Month this June, Beyond Finance launched a nationwide awareness campaign to spotlight the silent mental health struggles men face, especially when it comes to financial stress, secrecy, and shame.
The campaign was grounded in Beyond Finance’s national survey, which revealed that nearly half of men admit to hiding money behaviors, and 40% say financial stress has left them feeling isolated from friends and loved ones. The findings underscore a growing but often overlooked connection between money and mental health for men.
To lead the conversation, Beyond Finance’s certified financial therapist Nathan Astle participated in 28 broadcast media interviews, bringing his message of compassion and connection to over 20 million viewers and listeners nationwide.“Money doesn’t have to be a silent struggle,” says Astle. “When men internalize financial pressure, it often leads to isolation, anxiety, and shame — but we can heal through honesty and shared experience. Financial wellness is emotional wellness.”
