PhD, CFT™, Certified Deep Transformational Coach, RYT
Creator of the Financial Wellness RESET™ Framework
Dr. Erika Rasure is a financial therapist, educator, and researcher who has spent over two decades helping people transform their relationship with money. As Chief Financial Wellness Advisor at Beyond Finance, she developed the proprietary Financial Wellness RESET™ Framework, Assessment, and Curriculum — a clinically-informed model that addresses the behavioral and emotional dimensions of financial change alongside the practical ones. She leads weekly financial wellness sessions with clients, develops Beyond Finance's financial wellness programming, and brings a rare combination of academic rigor, clinical expertise, and personal empowerment to the field of financial health.
Dr. Erika Rasure began her career as a financial advisor and university professor before dedicating herself fully to financial therapy — the intersection of financial planning and mental health. Her approach is grounded in a foundational belief: that financial wellness is not just about numbers. It is about the emotional, behavioral, and psychological relationship people have with money, and how that relationship shapes every financial decision they make.
She is one of a small number of practitioners in the country to hold both a doctorate in Personal Financial Planning and the Certified Financial Therapist™ designation.
At Beyond Finance, Dr. Rasure meets weekly with clients navigating the stress and shame of debt, guiding them toward not just financial freedom but a healthier, more empowered way of thinking about money. The results are measurable: Beyond Finance clients rate their financial habits at an average of 5.7 out of 10 before working with Beyond Finance, and 8.1 out of 10 after — a 42% improvement that reflects genuine behavioral change.
Dr. Rasure also co-founded National Financial Practice Week, an initiative designed to advance the field of financial wellness and elevate the importance of financial health as a national priority.
Through her clinical work — alongside her doctoral research, her ongoing review of peer-reviewed research in behavioral psychology and financial therapy, and her observations of Beyond Finance clients undergoing significant financial wellness transformations — Dr. Rasure developed the Financial Wellness RESET™ Framework, a proprietary, clinically-informed model that addresses the behavioral and emotional dimensions of financial change alongside the practical ones.
She also developed the companion Financial Wellness RESET™ Assessment and the five-module Financial Wellness RESET™ Curriculum. All three are freely available to anyone through Beyond Finance.
The framework's five pillars guide individuals through the interconnected dimensions of lasting financial change:
